Program structure

The program strictly adheres to the curriculum, teaching methods, and examination regulations of the German partner university.

Program duration: 4 years (180 credits), including 1 foundation year (no credits) and 6 specialization semesters (180 credits).

Foundation year: English courses and basic industry subjects.

Year 2: Students focus on basic subjects such as linear algebra, calculus, mechanics, material technology, technical drawing, and business management, alongside a basic internship.

Year 3: The curriculum delves into advanced calculus, strength of materials, computer science, design, and introduces electrical engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.

Year 4: Students approach specialized topics including measurement engineering, fundamentals of manufacturing, quality management and industrial management, robotics, product development, additive manufacturing, and mechatronic systems.

Final semester: The program culminates with a professional internship and the completion of a graduation thesis, integrating and applying all learned skills in a practical environment.

Semester abroad: Final year students will have the opportunity to study and complete their graduation thesis in Germany with a DAAD scholarship or at their own expense.

Overview

The Mechanical Engineering (MEN) program at VGU, in cooperation with Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, offers an international study opportunity.

Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest and most comprehensive engineering disciplines, continuously evolving by incorporating natural science research results to improve existing products and create new ones. Mechanical engineers need to have in-depth knowledge of physics, mathematics, and materials. As information technology becomes increasingly used in design, testing, and production, mechanical engineers must be proficient with computers, and knowledgeable about economics and ecology to ensure sustainable design and production.

The program provides students with the highest skills and in-depth knowledge required to become engineers in one of two specializations: "Engineering Design and Automation" and "Energy and Process Engineering," which are highly demanded by both domestic and international employers.

The program offers students the specialized skills and knowledge necessary for careers in the industry and provides a broad and solid academic foundation for continuing research in postgraduate programs.
